Data Engineer at Digital Hive
Digital Hive is looking for a Data Engineer.

Expectations
As a Data Engineering professional, we expect you to be confident in applying data modelling and architecture principles (ER-modelling, normalization, ETL/ELT, tiered data warehouses, ...).
You should have experience with commonly used data processing and transformation tools and languages (SQL, Python, DBT, ...) as well as general software engineering best practices (version control/git, unit testing, ...) and Agile Scrum methodology and tools (Jira, Confluence, ...).
Your analytical and problem-solving mindset will help us expand and improve our customer's data and data pipeline architectures. So, it is crucial to have a proactive, flexible, and goal-oriented mind, with good communication skills for functional and technical requirement iterations. As a consultant, we expect you to be able to communicate clearly with our customers and be quick and flexible in adapting to new environments.

An analytical thinker with the ability to work and develop in massively scalable databases, cloud infrastructures, data transformation pipelines, or data migrations.

A hands-on problem solver with a great capacity to build and maintain the infrastructure to answer questions and improve processes,

A professional that communicates clearly and effectively with customers (Honesty & transparency are cornerstones of this)

Ability to build practical data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from various sources,

What we expect from you:

University degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Mathematics, or a comparable education/experience,

Strong knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (Python, C#, Java, among others),

Experience building and/or maintaining an enterprise data warehouse (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault ...)
-
Knowledge and experience building ETL processes.

Excellent business English.
How you can stand out from the crowd:

Experience working with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, MS Azure, GCP)
-
Experience with CI/CD principles and code repository tools (Git)

Experience with Jupyter notebooks, Airflow, or Great Expectations.

We have offices at the Officenter in Hasselt, which offers us the possibility to work flexible at any Officenter location in Belgium. Working from home is possible, but our preference is to regularly attend our offices and customer locations as required.
